Mexico City to host “México en el Corazón de México”

Mexico City announces “México en el Corazón de México” (Mexico in the Heart of Mexico), a fair to explore the cultural, artisan and regional foods throughout Mexico.

The first edition of the fair will be held from May 5 to 14, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Zócalo of Mexico City.

“México en el Corazón de México” seeks to generate the promotion and sale of various tourism products and services, with the possibility of being negotiated by the operators and producers themselves to enhance the economic and social development of Mexico’s tourism industry.

With the support of the governors of Mexico, and all those who collaborated to organize this exhibition, they have created the first event in the country that bring the consumer and tourism industry together to promote the friendly people and cultures of Mexico.

The event will have more than 40 cultural activities and 25 shows, seven gastronomic conferences, including cooking classes, given by experts in the field. Three great events where the traditional processes of the mezcal and the Mexican wine and cooking classes will be presented.

Participating leading food companies will present innovative recipes with their products. 50 craftsmen from 11 states, as well as members of museums in Mexico City, and experts will be part of this fair giving ten cultural conferences.

Restaurants of the Historic Center will host participating states and offer special menus with the most representative of traditional Mexican food in each region.

This initiative is carried out by the Government of Mexico City through the Ministry of Local Tourism and the Joint Fund for Tourism Promotion of Mexico City, with the collaboration of the Secretariats of Tourism of the states of the Republic and service providers of the country.

The policy of the Secretariat of Tourism has focused on open participation, inclusive work, sustainability and innovation and, above all, display the wonders of the city offered to everyone, which is reflected in this fair.

Attending the event to announce the fair was the Secretary of the Government of Mexico City, Patricia Mercado Castro; The Director General of the Joint Fund for Tourism Promotion of the CDMX, Irene Muñoz Trujillo; The graphic artist, Jorge Escudero; The manager of Turibus, Víctor Cortés Melo; Members of the Charros Association of the capital of the country and the team of collaborators of the fair.
